It's December 1st, the month of Christmas, when we start the famous advent calendar, the lights come back on in the streets
and our homes are dressed for the occasion. Are you wondering what dessert to bring to someone's house? We have the solution for you, and it's a delicious Gingerbread Tea Cookie dessert. Do you want to know how to prepare them? Keep reading and you'll find out.
Ingredients:
- 150 gr butter
- 100 gr brown sugar
- 5 grams baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger tea
- 1 egg
- salt
- 260 gr flour
For decoration:
- 100 gr icing sugar
- juice of half a lemon
- chocolate coating
Preparation:
- First, you need to prepare the cookie dough. To do this, put the dry ingredients in a bowl; brown sugar, sifted flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, ginger tea, and a pinch of salt. Mix everything with a whisk or a spoon.
- Now beat the egg and add it to the bowl. Also add the butter (take it out of the refrigerator a few minutes beforehand so it's soft).
- Mix all the ingredients until you have a homogeneous dough and then continue kneading with your hands.
- Form a ball with the dough and cover it with cling film. Let the dough rest in the refrigerator for at least one hour.
- Once the time has passed, sprinkle a little flour on a completely smooth surface and place the dough on top. Stretch it well with a rolling pin until it is half a centimeter thick.
- Cut the dough with Christmas-themed cookie cutters (trees, gingerbread men, etc.) and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Before decorating our cookies, we are going to bake them in a preheated oven at 180ºC for approximately 15-20 minutes, until they start to brown slightly. Once they are golden, take them out of the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
- Finally, it's time to decorate our incredible cookies and enjoy them.
Now it's time to enjoy our super dessert to rock this Christmas. Shall we get to work?
