White Tea has centuries of history in China; in ancient times, it was the drink of emperors and nobility. This type of tea is primarily produced in the Chinese province of Fujian, although producers can also be found in Nepal, Thailand, India, and Sri Lanka.
What is White Tea?
It is a tea obtained from the leaves of Camellia sinensis, the tea plant; it is exactly the same plant from which green, Oolong, and black teas are obtained.
The name has absolutely nothing to do with the color of the tea; it simply refers to its production. The process involves harvesting the leaves and drying them.
White Tea offers positive health benefits, which include:
- Aids in weight loss.
- Reduces symptoms of osteoporosis.
- Promotes skin care.

You're probably wondering how to prepare one now. We'll tell you how, and it's so easy and simple.
How to prepare it?
It is prepared with water at a temperature of around 85°C. Be careful, because the temperature is super important. If the tea is too hot, it will become bitter, and the most delicate flavors will disappear. It is also advisable to let the water rest for a couple of minutes before pouring it.
Use between 2 and 2.5 grams of tea per cup (approx. 1.5 teaspoons of tea).
The recommended infusion time is 4 minutes, although you can extend the time up to 10 minutes for the first infusion to allow the most delicate aromas to develop.
